How to Unlock your AT&T Phone

Unlock your AT&T phone effortlessly by following these simple steps below!

To unlock your phone please see these requirements:  

  • The device must be an AT&T phone or device locked to AT&T's network.
  • The device must not be reported as lost or stolen.
  • The account associated with the device must be in good standing, meaning no past due balance or unpaid bills.
  • The device must be active on the AT&T network for at least 60 days if it's a postpaid device. For prepaid devices, at least six months of paid service is required.
  • If the device is under an installment plan, it must be fully paid off. 
To Unlock your phone:
  1. Visit the AT&T Device Unlock Portal. 
  2. Select "Unlock your device."
  3. Enter your AT&T mobile number or the IMEI number of your device. 
  4. Complete the form with your name, email, and other required information. 
  5. Submit the request. 
  6. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions to complete the unlocking process. 
  7. Follow the instructions in the email to finish unlocking your device.

  1. Call AT&T Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from an AT&T device. 
  2. Provide the representative with your account details and device IMEI number. 
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the representative to complete the unlock request.

Additional Notes:

  • Military personnel can request unlocking without meeting the minimum service requirements by providing deployment documents. 
  • Once unlocked, the device can be used with other carriers that use GSM technology.
